This weekend Emil Bergkvist
and Joakim Sjöberg
from Sweden will drive their third rally in the WRC2
-class in the World Rally Championship
for 2017 on the island of Corsica
in France, with their team J-Motorspor in a Citroen
DS3 R5. After two straight sixth place in Monte-Carlo
and Sweden, the team are aiming for new WRC2
This is Emil and Joakim's first visit to Corsica
, and also the first real WRC
rally on asphalt in WRC2
. This weekend the team drove a test under mixed conditions.
– The test went well. Our car feels very good and competitive on asphalt. It was pretty bad and wet weather during the test, which might not be optimal when the rally is expected to be dry. But we got a good feeling in the car, says Joakim.
Emil and Joakim’s main goal is to gain experience for the future, and they are humble before the race.
